Nephi & Goliath: A Reappraisal of the Use. . . --and-- Right on Target: Boomarang Hits (WMV)
The purpose Brother McGuire's presentation is to show two things--First, that Nephi intentionally borrows from the Old Testament in creating his text--not just in direct citations, as in the Isaiah material, but also indirectly, as he borrows phraseology and story lines from familiar Old Testament stories. Second, that in identifying where this material is borrowed, we find that the Book of Mormon gives us insight into the state of the text of the Brass Plates, and how the differ from our traditional Old Testament text. This in turn provides an interesting new evidence for the authenticity of the Book of Mormon. Matthew P. Roper, "Right on Target: Boomarang Hits on the Book of Mormon," Mesa, Arizona: The Foundation for Apologetic Information and Research (FAIR), WMV.
