Faith of an Observer: Conversations with Hugh Nibley (DVD Video)

American Fork, Utah: Covenant Communications, 2004, DVD, 60 minutes. ISBN: 1591565103

Beautifully filmed on location among the ancient temples and pyramids of Egypt, along the beaches of Normandy, and against the backdrop of the Pacific Northwest, this documentary takes you on a fascinating journey of discovery and enlightenment as it explores various aspects of Hugh NibleyÆs life and teachings. Insightful commentaries by Elder Neal A. Maxwell, Truman G. Madsen, and other friends and family members provide a greater understanding of this almost legendary figure.

Review Excerpt:

"This video is powerful. Like anything else Dr. Nibley has done, it inspires the viewer (or reader, whatever the case may be). Very simply and powerfully a fervant testimony is born by Dr. Nibley; one that touches my heart everytime I watch it. I wife now knows the video by sound only. I like it enough to watch it about two times a month. " -- Raegan Baker, 2001.

Hugh Nibley received his Ph.D. in history from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1939. He is emeritus professor of ancient scripture at Brigham Young University. He is a gifted scholar, educator, and lecturer who has been delighting and motivating Latter-day Saints for decades. A prolific writer, a keen and witty observer, and a relentless critic of the worldly, he has led LDS Church members of all ages to a deeper understanding of and commitment to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
