Hoyt W. Brewster, Jr., is a prolific author with several books and articles to his credit. He has received degrees from the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, and he holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California. He has taught at several universities as well as in the seminary and institute programs of the Church Educational System.

He has worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in both the Priesthood Department and the Temple Department. He has served on several general Church committees, has presided over the Netherlands Amsterdam Mission, and is currently serving as a stake president.

Brewster is the author of several books, including Defining Moments and Behold, I Come Quickly: The Last Days and Beyond. He and his wife, Judy, have five children and live in Salt Lake City.
