Latter-day Christianity: Ten Basic Issues

Robert L. Millet and Noel B. Reynolds (Editors), Provo, Utah: Foundation for Ancient Research & Mormon Studies (FARMS), 1998, 6x9" softbound, 56 pages.

With the rapid and visible growth of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it has been inevitable that doctrinal differences have arisen between the Latter-day Saints and people of other faiths. Members of the LDS Church profess to be Christians, yet others doubt or do not understand this claim. The contributors to Latter-day Christianity hope that the ten essays contained in this full-color, illustrated book will help Latter-day Saints who want to explain their beliefs and be useful to people outside the LDS Church who want a simple and clear statement of those beliefs.

Robert L. Millet is professor of ancient scripture and former dean of Religious Education at Brigham Young University. Before joining the BYU faculty in 1983, he worked with LDS Social Services and the Church Educational System. He earned a master's degree from BYU in psychology and a Ph.D. from Florida State University in biblical studies and nineteenth- and twentieth-century religious thought.

Brother Millet has served as a member of the Church Materials Evaluation Committee. A prolific speaker and writer, his books include A Different Jesus?: The Christ of the Latter-day Saints, Alive in Christ, Life After Death, When a Child Wanders, and Within Reach.
